Summer nails...

I'm hardly blogging elite, I'm lucky if my blog gets ten page views a day and i have no followers on the bloglovin' site. I'm not complaining, honest! I'm just saying, I'm hardly in the position to be welcoming a new blogger, yet this is exactly what i am going to do. My beautiful best friend has started blogging, and i guarantee it will be worth checking out. So, if you've got a minute, check her blog out :) http://oliviaemlyn.blogspot.com/  I don't have much else to post today, I'm ill again so have been sitting at home feeling sorry for myself putting off anything that could be seen as productive, such as the mountain of college work piling up next to me, or the mountain of clothes on my floor that need putting away (there's always tomorrow for those things...) But here's my new favourite thing. Yellow nail varnish. It reminds me of summer and makes me smile when the weather outside is miserable, and the contrast between this and my beautiful new purple lipstick is simply divine. Happy new year people! I hope the new year brings you everything you wish for. Love and stuff x

Purple lipstick...

I said before in one of my posts that red and black lipsticks were completely different yet still always around and I was looking for the perfect new shade. Well I believe I have found it, MAC's 'cyber'. I spotted it in 'Marie Claire' a few months back and instantly adored it and even though the colour was much brighter in the magazine it's still beautiful. It's a really dark purple that edges on black which I think I prefer to another bright colour as I have so many metallic bright reds and pinks and this just has a completely different look to it. It looks really good paired with simple make up, as it really brings a whole look together, all though I haven't tried it with anything else yet, like smokey eyes but I think it might be a bit too dark and over the top? I will give it a go and see what I think about it.
I braved the sales this morning and brought a cute shirt from republic and a new purse which I was much in need of as I have had my current one for 7 years (I'm not even joking). Love and Stuff x

Shoe lust...

Topshop
Hope everybody had a good Christmas! I'm straight back online lusting over some beautiful shoes i have been eyeing up for a while... Firstly we have the top shop boots, which i have just discovered are on sale which only makes my love grow stronger. They have a platform front which means they can be higher and still comfy with a fleece top which is just generally beautiful and seeing as they are high boots it means it's far less likely my far too flexible ankles are going to turn over and break whilst walking in them. They are just generally so beautiful, and i think i need them.
River island
Tesco

Secondly, from river island, suede lace up desert boots. I really like desert boots, and I've been contemplating buying some for a while, but I wasn't sure about them, and then I discovered the heel versions, which are absolutely amazing. I always swore that wedges were hideous, but then I met these and changed my mind. They look adorable and so comfy, they can be casual or dressed up. Although I'm definitely not sure about these particular ones, is the heel and suede contrasting too much? I'm not sure... But i will definitely be keeping my eyes on these in the future. Thirdly, and lastly I've spotted another pair of suede lace ups, but this time from tesco( there is nothing wrong with clothes shopping in tesco). In a way it kind of mixes the two previous shoes, as they are wedged boots. The more I look at them in fact the more I like them; although I would wear the top bit folded down rather than up like it is in the picture.
So many shoes so little money...Love and stuff x

Decision time...

On my profile it says 'I can't remember what my natural hair colour is' but a few months after writing it I stand corrected; half of my hair is now my natural colour while the other half is bleached blond. The roots are getting slightly ridiculous now. But it's difficult to decide which colour to dye it, I've been dying my hair for years (which has taken its tole horrifically on the condition of it) which means I've now been most colours, bright red, orange, purple, brown, blond and blond with a red under fringe. Purple or red were probably my favourite, they're far more exciting than blond or brown, but I'm worried that either will wash out when i swim, and seeing as I'm currently trying to get a job as a lifeguard I'm not sure how well that will go down. Red's pretty popular at the moment, with stars like Rhianna sporting it, which makes me slightly less inclined to go red as for me disappearing into a crowd just isn't something i want to happen. I think the decision I have reached is a brown that will blend in with my natural colour so i can grow it out, but it's highly likely I will change my mind before i get round to dying it... Any ideas? Oh and i almost forgot, Merry Christmas! Love and stuff x

Turn it up...

'Turn in up' applies to both music and jeans; the louder the music the better and all though I'm not sure the same 'highter the better' concept works with turning up your jeans, but turn them to just above your ankle and you're sorted. Skinny jeans are getting boring, so turning them up is definitely the way forward, it just makes them look so much more interesting. It works really well with brogues(which i no longer have, but still miss)but it also works with converse, which is good for me as i have three or four pairs, even if some of them are worn to the point where they have split. Turned up jeans can have a kind of retroey feel(I'm giving myself some poetic licence here as I'm pretty sure this isn't a word...) especially when paired with the right top and just generally look cool; all though sometimes you do have to brave the cold, ankles out in winter?! Anyways, I'm off for a weekend in DISNEYLANDD! I'm so excited, you never are too old! Love and stuff x

Buttoned up...

At some point, possibly around the beginning of the year boys started wearing there shirts and polo's with all the buttons done up and it is definitely a good look, so why has the trend not caught on to girls?! I've seen very few girls wearing there shirts with the buttons done up, all though it is definitely harder for girls to pull off. I do know someone however who pulls it of flawlessly, my beautiful friend Kayla, who has an amazing style and can pull off the buttoned up look  (and most other looks) better than i could ever dream of, i would be jealous if she wasn't so lovely. I do think that when you wear a shirt buttoned up it needs a necklace under the collar to finish it off, I'm not sure why but it just kind of feels incomplete with out one; the one in my picture is a bit too short, it needs to come down a bit lower, but I love cross necklaces even though i am in no way religious. That's all shirt wise, but I'm having blood tests tomorrow and I'm petrified of needles, wish me luck! Love and stuff x

Socks...And heels?!

It sounds wrong, but give it a chance... Its not like socks and sandles, which i agree is completely wrong, but somehow having the heel just makes it so much better, it's cute! Granted, it probably has to be a certain type of shoes and socks for it to work...But i find that my beautiful black heels from Newlook and creame socks with frills just work. I'm not sure if court shoes that have no front would work, but i haven't tried it, so i'm not sure. And the thing is i wear my socks and heals over fishnets, which mixes two trends in one(and keeps my feet warm!) It's edgy, but cute at the same time and you can mix it up depending on what socks you wear, patterned socks with black dress and black heels, so fun! I'm currently part way through my lovely five day weekend, thankyou snow! I'm not sure how well the hoodie works with the socks and heels, but it is cold and i was too eager to go and play in the snow than look for a nice dress that could look cute with it. Love and stuff x

Bandannas...

Bandannas are cool. Fact. I think they are one of those things that are always gunna look good and there are always people that are going to be wearing them. They were quite a big thing in the nineties, although I'm not sure the pirate look (tied over your hole head) is great...Roll them up, twist it a bit then tie it around your head, the little knot at the top just looks so perfect. I have a really nice black one with Chinese writing on it, which I acquired of one of my brothers and a pink one as well as another black one. If you just want  to shove your hair up they can make it look a bit more interesting, and definitely can make your whole outfit. They're more difficult to get hold of now, but there are some really nice ones  in 'Beyond retro' in Brighton, I definitely need to add to my collection, but I think they are slowly crawling back into fashion so will probably be easier to get hold of. The picture's not great, but I'm still ill, i apologise though, hopefully I will get better soon which would be good as I'm defiantly struggling to remember what healthy feels like; it also means I may be able to put some decent pictures up which will make a change... Love and stuff x

Hand knitted

I'm posting allot recently, but I'm ill and seriously lacking motivation to do any form of real work...But on the plus for you guys it means you can hear about my lovely knitted jumper that my Mumma made when she was younger and i have now acquired. I used to wear it to sleep in, but then i realised how cool it was and it now makes regular much needed outings into the world. It's pretty old and hand knitted, so it's starting to look a but scruffy and has whole near the bottom, but i think, like allot of clothing it makes it look more interesting, it gives it more character. It's really warm, and truly lovely. On a different, possibly more exciting topic, i saw a coca-cola Christmas advert on TV last night which means it's definitely nearly Christmas, which means out comes the Christmas jumper (Well, it would be coming out if i hadn't been wearing it all year...) Come to think of it, since I've been wearing my current one all year it doesn't really count as a Christmas jumper anymore...I think a new one may be in order! Before i leave you all i would just like to express my excitement for the fact that it is only 35 sleeps until Christmas , yayayayayyayayayayaayayayyayayay! Here's my beautiful knitted jumper my Mumma made, forgive me for the state I'm in, hopefully i will get better at some point soon.  Love and stuff x

Dr Martens...

I haven't got round to taking my own picture
so here's one off the ol' google images.
It's not as bad as it seems, i haven't brought yet another pair of shoes! (Well, technically i have...) After one day wearing my lovely patch work brogues i wrote about a while ago the patchwork ripped and my lovely shoes were no longer. As much as i would have loved to replace them with the same pair i decided against it...Another pair of Dr Martens anyone? I think so! I was going to go for some classic 'mod' oxblood red 12 holes, but i decided against it when i saw them in the shop, they just looked too clumpy and I'm only short so they would have come up uncharacteristically high... However the 8 hole brown ones i found with wool inside were ridiculously beautiful, and practical with the wool inside! I now have two pairs of D.M's, one 8 whole pink pair which lasted me about three years but are now gradually falling apart and my lovely new additions. Granted, they're pretty pricey, roughly £75, but they last for such a long time, it's defiantly worth it, especially considering all the lovely new colours they come in and like converse they look better with time.  I would like a pair in every colour please, then i can colour co-ordinate my whole outfit(Not that i have ever bothered doing that before..) And here they are, marvel at the in all there glory. Love and stuff x

hand me downs (Or ups)...

Allot of people have a problem with hand me down clothing, they want something new and on trend, designer if possible, thank you. I on the other hand absolutely love 'borrowing' other people's clothes (i use the term 'borrow' loosely as they hardly ever get returned). Shirts of my dad, cartoon tops of my little brothers, jumpers from my grandparents, if it's in the washing pile it's fair game. I love really big shirts that effectively work as dresses that i  can steal of my dad, he had a lovely one that he brought for a fancy dress party and only ever got to wear once and i have been wearing ever since, i recently got a sleeveless denim jacket exactly like i had been looking for which had once been my older brothers, passed down to my younger brother then passed to me. My new favourite pass me ups (from my younger brother) would have to be my dragon jumper and wolf t-shirt. They're quirky and kind of retro style, maybe even a little bit indie? They're something that you don't see many other people wearing as i don't think many people shop in there little brother's wardrobe, but best of all is that they're free :) On a different note, my hair is suffering after a party last night when somebody thought it would be funny to cut a chunk out, i know the partially shaved look is in, but i'm not sure the uneven look will be reaching the red carpet any time soon...Love and stuff x

Coloured lipstick pleasee...

Red lipstick is classic and probably allways will be, black is edgy but allways hanging about the scene, but my new favourite has to be brown. It's probably a little bit weird, but i love it. I have one called 'chocolate' by colour which i found recently and fell a little bit in love with. Red and pink are fun and i do love them, but brown's just a bit more edgy which i deffinatly like. Blue and green put in an apperance on the red carpet recently, i'm thinking it was summer but i can't be sure, i haven't tried etiher but i'm thinking there possible just not gunna work, but i guess i can't judge untill i have tried it, maybe i will give it a go and get back to you. I am however on the hunt for a dark purple...i'm thinking that could work, it's like brown just a bit more interesting. I'm gunna have to keep it short again as i have french homework, but i'm hopeing i can master posting from my blackberry or at least drafting something which might mean anyone who bothers reading might get something a bit more interesting. Ohh, and here is my new favourite brown lipstick. Love and stuff x

Glitter...

I'm still not sure about sequins, but i am sure about glitter. Not glitter on clothes like slogan tees you have when you're about ten, but full on glitter, preferably on the face :) Kesha definitely rocks this trend, far, far better than most people could, but I'm still gunna attempt it, maybe one day i will be able to pull it off as well as she can (Unlikely, i know). You can buy glitter eye shadow, Barry M dazzle dust comes in practically every colour, but i prefer to use normal arts and crafts glitter, i think it just looks better, and it's definitely less messy, all though you do have to stick it to Vaseline.
I haven't updated in ages (one month and one day exactly)I've been ridiculously busy with college. In fact right now i should definitely be doing something more productive with my time, I will attempt at posting again sooner, but in the meantime i will leave you with my glitter picture as my history essay is definitely calling me.  Love and Stuff x

Meat dress just too Gaga?

It's out there, contemporary and made of 100% livestock. Controversial? It goes without saying, but whether or not it can be described as fashion is a matter that is very much up for debate and it is being just that, debated. It's been front page news in most newspapers since the VMA's a few weeks ago and has flared animal rights protest as well as bemusing thousands of people wondering what the statement was, if there even was one. The theories have ranged from the more obvious like anti-fashion to the less obvious like how the US army's view on homosexuality. Personally, i don't understand why we feel the need to find hidden meanings or statements behind things, some things in life exist simply to be beautiful and us picking them apart often takes away the beauty. Some people might disagree that the 'meat dress' is a thing of beauty, but art is personal and i don't think people would be so quick to say Picasso's abstract paintings aren't art. The only problem i see with her dress is isn't it a waste of meat...? Love and stuff x

stipey jeans anyone...?

Turns out my computer has broken, meaning i can no longer blog from the comfort of my bed and have had to leave the house to find another computer to keep my approximately 0 readers updated.
But anyway, I'm roughly two weeks into college and I'm wondering if it's too early to bring out the florescent stripey jeans? Now i know I'm completely backtracking after in my previous post saying how bored i was of stripes, but these jeans are in no way a safe fall back option, they are pretty out there. I have one red and black pair from Camden market which used to be my brothers when he was going through a 'grunge' phase and a green and black pair from the North Lanes in Brighton. I love them, but i constantly get weird looks when i wear them out and I'm not sure how well they will go down in college, especially since i have only just started making friends. Maybe i will leave it a few weeks...
I will leave you with pictures of my lovely jeans, they're really old, but seeing as i can't blog from my own computer anymore it's the best i can do for now. Love and Stuff x

Beautiful, beautiful brogues...

I would like to formally welcome my beautiful new brogues to my excessive shoe collection... Brown with patch work roses, the perfect combination of masculine and feminine. Granted i probably didn't need a new pair of shoes (on a rough count I'm going with having at least 16 pairs) but they were just too beautiful to resist; walking around in them today every time i looked down a fell a little bit more in love. Besides brogues are a classic and they can look formal and go with practically everything!
On a different subject entirely, i feel the need to tell you about my Friday night out in Essex. As it turns out it is the place to be if you want to end the night watching your brother in the back of a police car being driven back to tesco's where you had gone to feed his ridiculous appetite on the way back from the pub when some abusive 14 year olds had attempted and failed at starting a fight, ending with them telling the police your brother had 'slapped' them...Fun night all round.

beanies

In typical English style the weather at the moment is being very unpredictable. But seeing as September has arrived I'm pretty sure nobody expects it to be very warm anymore, which is disappointing, seeing as i absolutely love the summer. But winter being around the corner does have some plus sides, like the fact that you can wear woolly hats! Hats are my absolute favourite thing to wear, in the summer i wear them in those long evenings but in the winter I'm hardly ever out of one, including when i sleep. Now, i have three fall back hats at the moment, my grey topshop slouchy beanie, my bright yellow topman slouchy beanie and of course the river island panda hat. My collection of winter hats is pretty big, but these three are the ones that i wear the most. Hats are pretty difficult to pull off properly and I'm not sure i do them justice to be honest, i am constantly reminded that i look like a gnome when i wear my slouchy ones, but i just don't care. They keep me so warm and i just love them. This winter I'm in search for a cable knit slouchy one with a bobble, maybe in blue...
You will have to excuse the pictures, i didn't have much time to take them, so they aren't very good. Love and stuff x

Stripes...

Don't get me wrong, i love stripes as much as the next person, they're aways a safe option. Everybody can rock a casual stripe. But they have been in high fashion for so long it's getting boring. First stripes, then nautical style, which is, let's face it, mainly stripes. Since when were fashion designers creatures of habit?
Here's me wearing stripes, just to proove that I'm not completely anti-stripe :)

Good morning:)

Good morning blogging world,
here's my first blog...
I'm Abigaillucy, i like music and friendly people and sunrises and pokemon and photography. I'm 16 and i don't have anything interesting to blog about but I'm going to attempt to anyway.
I'm currently listening to sail by the stars and avoiding tidying my room. I'm kind of unreliable and just generally don't care.
That's all i have to say right now, i will write again if i ever think of something interesting to write.
Love and stuff x
